Any form of violence is unacceptable.

Family violence is when a family member is violent, threatening, intimidating, or using any method to make you be afraid. It can include:

  • Emotional abuse
  • Financial abuse
  • Forcible confinement

Family violence can happen to anyone, regardless of race, education level, gender or age.

People who have experienced family violence may live in continued fear for themselves or their family, even after they have left their abusive relationship.
