Professional Licensing

The Office of the Registrar, Professional Licensing is responsible for ensuring that the licensing of health and social services professionals is carried out in accordance with legislation and best practices.

This licensing process helps to ensure the public is protected and that qualified professionals are licensed to practice. The Registrar’s Office ensures quality control by reviewing the credentials and documents of applications, as required by legislation.

The Department of Health and Social Services has responsibility for legislation governing 15 professions covered by 14 different Acts.
