Community Counselling Program (CCP)

The NWT Community Counselling Program provides on-the-ground access to mental health services in all of the regions. Trained counsellors are available for you to talk about any problems that you may be dealing with in your life as well as provide assistance or referrals to other services that could help you.

This free service is available for all residents. Counsellors live in 20 communities. In all other communities, counsellors provide phone support and in-person counselling on a fly-in basis.

The goal of this program is to make mental health services easy for you to access.

If you need help or just want to talk, please call your community counselling program:

Strongest Families Institute

The Strongest Families Institute provides evidence-based programs and support to families of children and youth ages 3-17 who experience anxiety, behaviour challenges and bedwetting. Programs are also available to adults experiencing anxiety, excessive worry, and coping with major life stressors. This free, distance based approach provides coaching through telephone at times that are convenient for the individual/family. There are no wait times and individuals can access help quickly.
