Blood Donation in the NWT

The NWT does not have blood donor clinics.

Blood donor clinics are run by Canadian Blood Services (CBS), who have strict guidelines to ensure the safety and efficacy of donated blood. This includes ensuring the temperature at which donated blood must be stored at and the time between collection, testing and processing into useable components. For this reason, CBS does not harvest blood in the NWT and other remote regions of Canada.

NWT residents wanting to donate their blood can do so when travelling down south. They can register online with CBS, https://www.blood.ca, and then book an appointment in the province they are visiting.
