Farewell from Carrot

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

We didn’t know exactly how to say this, so we hope you don’t mind that we borrowed some words from Winnie the Pooh.

Just over four years ago, we came up with a beautiful idea on how to inspire many more Canadians to live healthier lives. Since then, a small but mighty team has worked tirelessly to bring that dream to life. It worked incredibly well — over a million Canadians are now living better and healthier each day because of Carrot! OVER ONE MILLION BETTER LIVES (let that sink in for a moment).

And that’s why it breaks our hearts to be saying farewell to you as we have closed down the Carrot Rewards app this morning. Just like so many other young start-up ventures, our beautiful Carrot needed investment funding to keep running — and, even though we gave it our all, our funds eventually ran out and we could no longer be in business.

There’s so much to be proud of. Our hearts are heavy, but they’re also filled with pride for everything we were able to do together. We inspired you, and so many others like you, to learn more about wellness, to move a little more each day and to just live a little better in every way. We built a passionate community around our popular app. We won awards from all over the world and we proved that ours was a much better, new way to promote wellness across an entire nation.

Thanks for letting us play a small part in your health and wellness journey. Now it will be up to YOU. Rest assured any points that you have earned to this point that have been processed are yours to keep. We’ll be gone from your phone, but we hope the inspiration and motivation will stay with you. You’ve GOT THIS!
