Two Foxes Tested Positive for Rabies in Tuktoyaktuk

YELLOWKNIFE – November 26, 2021- The Chief Public Health Officer is advising that two foxes from Tuktoyaktuk have tested positive for rabies in the past few weeks.  There have been incidents of dogs in the community being attacked by foxes.

Rabies in humans can be fatal. Vaccines prevent rabies.

If you have been bitten, scratched or in contact with a fox or bitten by a dog, please contact the Health Centre and report the incident immediately.

If your dog was attacked please contact the ENR Wildlife Officer.
