Rabid Dog at Yellowknife SPCA if you had contact with the dog call Environmental Health.
YELLOWKNIFE 20 March 2020 – A male husky cross dog (named Kit) from Cambridge Bay, was held at the Yellowknife SPCA from March 11th to March 14th (Photo below). It developed signs and symptoms of rabies on March 14.
It was euthanized and tested for rabies. The test was positive. It was held in a cage outside the building for a time.

Syphilis Outbreak Issued for NWT
YELLOWKNIFE 22 August 2019 – The Chief Public Health Officer (CPHO) has declared a syphilis outbreak for the Northwest Territories.
Further to the Public Health Advisory issued on April 23, 2019, the NWT has seen a dramatic increase in syphilis rates with 28 reported cases since January 1, 2019. The majority of these cases (70%) have been in Yellowknife.
