Increased Influenza Activity in NWT

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES (February 25, 2025) - The Chief Public Health Officer is advising the public of an increase in influenza activity in all regions of the NWT. Recent data shows a rise in Influenza A and B cases, as well as increased virus levels in Yellowknife wastewater, indicating increased wider community transmission.

Update on Infection, Prevention and Control Measures Issue in Beaufort Delta

BEAUFORT DELTA REGION (December 9, 2024) – The Chief Public Health Officer (CPHO) of the NWT is providing an update on the public health advisory released on October 8, 2024. That advisory was about infection, prevention and control concerns related to dental services provided at five health care facilities in the Beaufort Delta region between March 21 and April 29, 2024.

Boil Water Advisory Lifted for the Community of Délı̨nę

DÉLĮNĘ (November 21, 2024) - The Chief Environmental Health Officer advises all residents in the community of Délı̨nę that the precautionary Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.

On October 31, 2024, the Community Government of Délı̨nę asked residents to boil their water due to higher than normal turbidity (muddy water).

There have been no illnesses associated with drinking water reported in the community.
