YELLOWKNIFE (December 6, 2023) - The Chief Public Health Officer is issuing an advisory to notify the public of a significant increase in influenza cases in the NWT over the past week, with the majority reported in Yellowknife.

Notably, Alberta has been experiencing widespread influenza activity for the past few weeks.

As we enter the holiday season and anticipate an influx of returning students and visitors, it is strongly recommended that individuals aged 6 months and older stay up to date on their flu vaccines.

YELLOWKNIFE (28 November 2023) – The Chief Public Health Officer is advising all residents in the community of Délı̨nę that the precautionary Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.

Residents who receive their water from the Community Government of Délı̨nę were asked to boil their water due to higher than normal turbidity (muddy water).

There have been no illnesses associated with drinking water reported in the community.

YELLOWKNIFE - 24 Nov 2023 - The Chief Public Health Officer is advising all residents in Déline to boil their drinking water for at least one minute.

This advisory is precautionary in nature and is due to higher-than-normal turbidity (muddy water) in the water. There have been no illnesses associated with drinking water reported in the community. 

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES - (November 11, 2023) – The Office of the Chief Public Health Officer (OCPHO) is alerting the public of two recent suspected overdose deaths in the territory. 

YELLOWKNIFE – 18 October 2023. The Chief Public Health Officer is issuing a public health advisory related to a case of hepatitis A confirmed in a food handler working at two Edmonton restaurants inside Edmonton International Airport.

Any NWT individuals who consumed food or drink purchased from the locations mentioned below between the dates and times may have been exposed to hepatitis A.
