YELLOWKNIFE October 14, 2021 – The Office of the Chief Public Health Officer (OCPHO) is announcing an update to the outbreak, affecting students in grades 9 - 12 at Diamond Jenness Secondary School (DJSS).
There are currently six (6) individuals with confirmed COVID-19 infections. Transmission is most likely linked to social circles. In order to reduce further transmission at DJSS the OCPHO is recommending the following:
- All not fully vaccinated staff/students in grades 9 – 12 should isolate immediately and contact Hay River Public Health to arrange for testing.
- All fully vaccinated staff/students in grades 9 – 12 should self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Isolate immediately if you become symptomatic and contact Hay River Public Health to arrange for testing.
Some students have already been contacted by the school and provided a letter with instructions. Please continue to follow the advice outlined in the letters.
