Sustainability

The Department of Health and Social Services and DeBeers Group of Companies have entered into an agreement to offer a Baby Bundle to every expectant parent and caregiver in the NWT and support equitable access to resources right from the start.

Partnership

The partnership with Indigenous Services Canada and Gahcho Kué Mine joint venture partner, De Beers Group and Mountain Province Diamonds is an integrated, holistic, approach to building a better tomorrow, starting with early childhood development. Leaving a positive legacy in the regions by improving the early childhood education levels and skills that in turn improve the livelihoods of community members in the Northwest Territories.

Timeline

Based on the average annual birth rate in the NWT, approximately 600 boxes will be distributed every calendar year for the next four years. The estimated cost of a baby bundle is approximately $650, logistics included.
