Community wellness is a shared vision for healthier communities. It results in a healthier population and greater involvement by communities.
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is committed to providing support to NWT communities so that they can improve the wellness and health of their residents. The GNWT is preparing for a new Funding Agreement with Indigenous Affairs Canada to deliver federally funded community-based wellness programs. The federal funding is used by the communities to develop and implement their own wellness plans.
